Being relatively new to The Matrix Online, I thought it would be interesting to document my adventures and exploration of Mega City. These blog entries chronicle my adventures…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For this week's adventure, I headed into the Magog neighborhood which is just south of Mara. Magog looked and felt similar to the Mara neighborhood and it was a heck of a lot cleaner then the Moriah Projects, thankfully. It took me a week to wash all the dirt out of my clothes after my adventures in Moriah…I still really need to find out the Crossbones' laundry secrets. After checking my map for interesting sights to see and possible places to get some pictures for my scrapbook, the only thing I found of interest was something called the Mjolnir Monument. I decided to go check it out, but on my way I found something else interesting...a construction site! I love big machines, so I had to pose in front of the really big dump truck and take a few pictures. As I strolled around the site looking for what else was around, I hit the mother load…porta-potties! I'm not sure why I found them so hilarious, maybe because I'm just a big kid at heart. So, of course I had to take a few pictures of me in front of them for my scrap book!
Once I finally finished playing around the construction site, I headed across the street to the Monument. I was really impressed; it looked like a huge towering hammer. This is when I remembered that Mjolnir was the name of Thor's hammer. Why a monument to Thor's hammer would be in Mega City I haven't a clue…I'm sure there is a story there somewhere that I just don't know. I definitely did know, however, that I needed to get some pictures of me in front of it for my scrap book! I looked all around and the area to find a couple of good places from above and below to take pictures. I really wish I had went to a vendor and bought the Hyper Jump skill before coming here. I bet I could have jumped up to the top of the monument and would have had an excellent view.
After my sight-seeing expedition was over, it was time to find a collector and I found one named Kerton. He seemed to be a very concerned citizen. He was worried about the Blackwood gang from Mara spreading into this neighborhood. I guess he was starting some kind of warped vigilante neighborhood watch or he just happened to read the big "Killer for Hire" tattooed on my forehead because he wanted me to kill Blackwood gang members and collect their onyx rings as proof of their demise. In exchange for six onyx rings he offered to give me some gloves. However, after looking at the gloves, they weren't as good as the ones I currently had. On the other hand, these were the Blackwoods, and I was still plenty mad about them all wearing my jacket and ruining its 'cool factor' a while back. Yeah…they needed to pay because of that! I took the job.
Kerton was right about the Blackwoods spreading; they were all over Magog already. Fortunately for me, they weren't any tougher then they were in the Mara neighborhood. I got right down to business and tossed them around like rag dolls. After clearing the streets of about fifteen of them, I had the six onyx rings Kerton wanted. Boy, I'm lucky he didn't know how many Blackwoods were around…otherwise he might have asked for fifty of them! I body slammed a few more Blackwoods for good measure (since I really hate those guys), and headed back to Kerton to get my gloves. I guess I figured I could use them on days that my current ones are at the cleaners.
As I headed out of Magog, I tried to figure out what I learned from this adventure. First and foremost, you're never too old to run around a construction site like an eight year old and point and laugh at porta-potties – I'm sorry, they're funny! Next, apparently Blackwood gang members multiply faster than rabbits. Finally, this place needs an archive that contains explanations on what all their monuments stand for I mean seriously, is it too much to ask for a plaque to read or something? Of course, maybe they were just placed there for me to look cool in front of…yeah, that must be it. It's all about me, after all.
Until next time,
