Where in the real life world do you live?
I live in Houston, Texas.
How long have you played The Matrix Online?
I first started in December of 2005, but I quit because my computer sucked so much. I started up again on July 4th, 2006 and I have been playing ever since!
What other MMOs have you played?
MxO is my first and only MMO so far.
What type of work do you do?
I'm a college student.
What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most?
My parents were real interested in Myst when I was young, so I just wandered around and messed with everything I could in that game. Then I started playing Star Wars PC games when I got a little older and after that, I started playing console games.
What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing The Matrix Online?
I like to draw or do artwork when I'm not being lazy. I also really like puzzles, plus I like to swim and go to the beach whenever I can.
What is your highest character level in The Matrix Online?
I have five level 50s.
How or why did you choose your main character's name?
I've used Sputnik1220 ever since I made an AIM account so my friends could talk to me. My name, funnily enough, is named after a cat I had, not the satellite. The cat is named after the satellite, but I was stupid and didn't know it was a satellite at the time. The 1220 is just my birthday, and the numbers stuck.
What Branch (Coder, Hacker, Operative) and ability tree is your main character?
Sputteh uses hacker! I use a little bit from each tree, but love the DOTs.
Why did you choose the Branch and ability tree that you did?
I used guns at first, but I wasn't all that great and I had fun dueling Hydrazine with hacker. It seemed like I was getting killed by Master Knife Throwers all the time, which is the catalyst that caused me to switch. I said I'd go back to guns, but I never did because I'm lazy. Hacker is a lot easier to use for farming and mass NPCs on missions. Plus, I love the sound it makes when you use an area effect hack on a ton of NPCs!
Is your main character in a crew, if so, what rank is the character?
Sputteh is the first mate of THE TEMPEST.
Is your main character in a faction, if so, which one and what is their faction rank?
Sputteh's faction is Insurgence, and I'm a councilor member. THE TEMPEST is a rank one crew and leader of the faction. Join the Insurgence. Fight the System!
What was your favorite chapter?
I think my favorite chapter is 5. I thought the Unlimit spawning in non-Richland areas were kind of cool. It was also the chapter going on while I was leveling up, so it seemed extra amazing cause I was a total nub.
What is your favorite neighborhood?
My favorite neighborhoods are Dannah, Vauxton, and Furihata. Dannah is nostalgic for me because it was the first hardline I went to where I wasn't ganked coming out of the hardline after becoming permaflagged. I like Vauxton and Furihata for the looks, especially by the Vauxton west hardline. I like the lake and that little area where you can just sit.
Who is your favorite NPC?
The Bag Lady, or as I like to call her...TEH BAG LADEH! I like her name...she was kind of mean when I ran missions for her though. I also love Shimada, her name is beautiful, and I love her personality. She is very calm and quiet, but she is also very strong.
What is the most $info you have ever spent at one time and what did you purchase?
Until a couple weeks ago, the most I had spent was 5 million for various items: Emma's vengeance, widows moor glasses, 5 points apparel crafting coat. However, recently I was looking for stuff on the market and accidently bought an item for 50 million.
Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so, what is it and why do you keep it?
Not really...I wasn't around for most of the stuff that people keep around. I guess I could say the widows moor cap and the Helen's Raiment Hydrazine gave me for leveling to 40 and 45. I never even took them out of the email. I also keep my clamors and bedlams around from my gunman days.
What do you like best about The Matrix Online?
I have three things. My first would be whenever we all work together and get over being enemies. Even a faction working together to accomplish something like the toy boxes is great!
Second, would be leveling up. Hydrazine pretty much power leveled Jinjoe and myself, I always had a great time. I loved and hated being attackable while I was leveling, but the 50s that attacked me made me want to get to 50 faster. I also like all the stops along the way, like Sakura, and tagging access nodes is always fun. Plus you get nice clothes! Leveling up an alt is even fun because you learn new things all the time about whatever loadout your using.
My third would be the events, particularly my first event, 5.2.3. I was still a lowbie nub and had no idea what was going on. I didn't even know that Rarebit and LESIG did the live events at the time, so I was going crazy from all the strange things going on. It was the event where Anome was in the Historic District Park and it was the first time I'd seen every organization working together and not killing each other. I was just running around in the back rezzing people and I remember hearing in faction chat about not being able to get up close cause of this green lightning or whatever. The whole experience was just awe inspiring to me, since I had absolutely no idea what was going on. It was like a kid's first Christmas.
How would you describe your best experience playing The Matrix Online?
I would describe it as fulfilling. It's a great sense of accomplishment when you kill an archive boss by yourself for the first time, or work together during an event. It's like you're a part of the movie when you are at events. I also like finding out something new that I didn't know before, even if it's just a little thing. I really enjoy helping out anyone, whether it's with questions, missions, whatever.
Do you run or work for an MxO Fan Site or Radio Station?
Nope. I've been trying to help Hydra with the Insurgence website, but haven't really done much yet.
