Block Party
The 2nd annual Block Party at SOE HQ is coming up on Saturday July 28th! I swear, last year it was the hottest day of the year in San Diego (110 or so degrees...!!!) but this year looks to be much cooler and we have lots of shade and fans to help keep the temperature nice and cool. Theres going to be a bunch of things for people to do, hang out with SOE personalities, giveaways galore, and some exclusive sneak-peeks at upcoming SOE titles. Oh, and lets not forget the grub and drinks, best of all it's completely FREE! So if you can make it out to SOE HQ, or if your at Comic-Con (we'll have busses going) stop by and hang out with us!

Fan Faire
Fan Faire is quickly coming and I know the entire team is excitied to get out there and meet everyone that shows up. You also got a peek into the pre-registration item , the Verdigris Shirt. Ben brainstormed a bit on this shirt and it went through a couple of different versions, this is possibly why you may have only seen the pre-registration item listed as a "green shirt". As unexciting as a "green shirt" sounds at that time a name wasn't concocted for what you see now and that's why that information didn't reflect it's real name the "Virdigris Shirt". Part of the trouble that I recall Ben mentioning is that the game is stuck in the state of 1999, which is what The Matrix canon follows so we couldn't implement something that was too "in the now", meaning no Fan Faire 2007 logo. In all honesty I think it came out extremely nicely!
Buddy Key News - Rejoice!
I've gotten word that should be good news to everyone, buddy keys are ready to be shipped out via e-mail and the plan is to get this expedited sometime on Monday (it may be Monday or Tuesday by the time it's actually in your in-box). Call your friends, family, and anyone else who's interested in trying out The Matrix Online since you'll be able to get them that all important buddy key. Oh, yes the most important detail is that the keys will expire on August 31st so be sure that you don't just sit on them!
Story Summary, Chapter 8.1.1 (7/12-7/18) by Rarebit
Cypherite spies discovered that Zion has been constructing a new city, situated in a vast complex of natural and artificial caverns far beneath the Earth's surface, protected by a combination of heavy sediment layers, EMP devices embedded in the rock, and live EMP fields powered by geothermal energy. The Machines declared this base, popularly termed "New Zion," to be a violation of the truce, and revoked Zion's privilege of recruiting humans who reject the Matrix simulation.
Machine forces moved swiftly to neutralize Zion's systems within the Matrix, achieving rapid early success. Zion operatives found themselves under attack by Agents anywhere outside of the Richland slums.
E Pluribus Neo began examining possible ways in which they could strike back at the Machines, possible outside of the simulation itself. Concerned lest Zion fall to the Machines, the Kid offered to assist Zion hovercraft, under fire from hostile Sentinel patrols.
The Merovingian threw a party, gloating over the possibilities for profit opened up by the return of the war between Zion and the Machines.

We held an MXO Trivia Contest in the Fight Club in Richland and then we all went to the Mara C hardline and did the /russdance
7-15 Event on Recursion
We started off changing everybody to the "Lady in Red" at the Mara Central Bridge and then later I held a MXO Trivial Contest with everybody dressed as Commandos

Folding...Not just for clothes anymore...
The Folding@Home team is doing some incredible things here, they've sputtered a bit lately but they've picked things back up again and are on the ball quickly making their way to the top 800! As of this writing team MxO is ranked 899 in the world. Let me say that again...in the WORLD! That's a remarkable feat!
